Kawawa Secondary School was established in 1994 and registered by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training National S.574 in compliance with the National Education Law number 25 of 1978 section 26 (3), the registration record is ED/USJ1994/1/20.
The school was registered starting from Form One to the Form Four with the number of four (4) streams for each class, equal to 640 students for the whole school.
In 2008, the school got permission to start the Form Five and Six for Arts subjects with combination of (HGK, HGL, and HKL). In 2023 the school established more subjects for Form Five and Six with the following combinations PCM, PCB, PGM, EGM, CBG, CBA, HGE, HGK, HGFa, HGL, HGLi and HKL.
In Kawawa secondary school, Form One to Form Four students are taught a variety of subjects that are aimed at providing a well-rounded education and preparing them for further studies or entering the workforce.
1. Languages:
French, English, literature in English and Swahili. Students are expected to develop proficiency in both languages to facilitate communication and learning in other subject areas.
2. Mathematics:
The aim of teaching Mathematics is to develop logical and analytical thinking skills among students.
3. Science:
Science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. These subjects help students develop an understanding of the natural world and scientific principles.
4. Social Studies:
Social studies subjects such as history, geography, and civics are taught to provide students with an understanding of the social, cultural, and political aspects of Tanzanian society and the world.
