About our School

Introduction

Kawawa Secondary School is owned by the Chief of National Service (CNS) through his Subsidiary organization for wealth production (SUMAJKT). The school is located within the area of the 841KJ force, two kilometers from the headquarters of the force. In addition, the Commander of the 841KJ force is the guardian of the school. The school is co-educational (girls and boys) and offers boarding and day care for students from the Form One to Form Six.

History of the Establishment of the School

Kawawa Secondary School was established in 1994, with a volunteer program where the military and a few of our neighbors volunteered to build it with the intention of becoming a primary school, but due to the lack of secondary schools in the Mafinga area, it was decided that it should be a secondary school.

The aim of the establishment of the school was to provide education to the Officers and Soldiers as well as the families in the camps and the surrounding areas. From that point of view, this school was not established for a commercial purpose but to provide services to Officers and Soldiers as well as their families. After a few years the provision of education expanded to include the citizens of the surrounding areas.

The construction of the School began in August 1992. The construction was carried out by the Officers and Soldiers of JKT Army Group 841 including the work if burning bricks, collecting sand, stones and fetching water from the river.
